Heaven or Hell, the choice is yours!

Updated: May 22, 2020

Indeed, in the alternation of the night and the day and [in] what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth are signs for a people who fear Allah. Indeed, those who do not expect the meeting with Us and are satisfied with the life of this world and feel secure therein and those who are heedless of Our signs. For those their refuge will be the Fire because of what they used to earn. Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - their Lord will guide them because of their faith. Beneath them rivers will flow in the Gardens of Pleasure. Their call therein will be, "Exalted are You, O Allah," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace." And the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds!"

(Surah 10: 6-10)

The disbelievers, the hypocrites and some of the disobedient believers will enter the Hellfire. Surely, those who disbelieve and did wrong; Allah will not forgive them, nor will He guide them to any way except the way of Hell, to dwell therein forever. (Quran 4:168-169) Surely, Allah has cursed the disbelievers, and has prepared for them a flaming Fire wherein they will abide forever. (Quran 33:64) And whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then surely, for him is the fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever. (Quran 72:23) Out of every thousand, 999 will enter the Hellfire.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "On the day of Resurrection Allah will say, 'O Adam!' Adam will reply, 'Labbaik our Lord, and Sa`daik ' Then there will be a loud call (saying), Allah orders you to take from among your offspring a mission for the (Hell) Fire.' Adam will say, 'O Lord! Who are the mission for the (Hell) Fire?' Allah will say, 'Out of each thousand, take out 999.' At that time every pregnant female shall drop her load (have a miscarriage) and a child will have grey hair. And you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet not drunk, but severe will be the torment of Allah." (22.2) (When the Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned this), the people were so distressed (and afraid) that their faces got changed (in color) whereupon the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "From Gog and Magog nine-hundred ninety-nine will be taken out and one from you. You Muslims (compared to the large number of other people) will be like a black hair on the side of a white ox, or a white hair on the side of a black ox, and I hope that you will be onefourth of the people of Paradise." On that, we said, "Allahu-Akbar!" Then he said, "I hope that you will be) one-third of the people of Paradise." We again said, "Allahu-Akbar!" Then he said, "(I hope that you will be) one-half of the people of Paradise." So we said, Allahu Akbar." English Reference : Vol. 6, Book 60, Hadith 265 Arabic reference : Book 65, Hadith 4741

It has 7 gates. And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all. It has seven gates: to each of those gates is a specific class of sinners assigned. (Quran 15: 43-44) The heat of the Hellfire is 70 times more severe than the hottest of this world.

The body of the disbelievers will be made to grow so that he will taste the torture more:

  • the space between his shoulders will be like 3 days journey, and

  • the size of his molar tooth will be like the mountain of Uhud.

  • His skin will be made thick and it will be repeatedly exchanged after being thoroughly burnt with a new skin in order to increase the pain of scorching punishment.

"Those who reject Our Signs, We shall soon cast them into the Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty. For Allaah is Exalted in Power, All-Wise" (4:56)

No food will there be for them except from a bitter, thorny plant which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. (Quran 88:6-7) Their drink will be boiling water that will scald their stomachs. Their food will be Zaqqum, excessively bitter, in addition to the flushing of wounds and the pus of the inhabitants of Hellfire. There is a special tree in hell called zaqūm that people will it from. This tree is rooted at the bottom of hell and its branches are described as being similar to the heads of devils. Indeed, the tree of zaqūm is food for the sinful, like murky oil, it boils within bellies, like the boiling of scalding water. (Quran 44:43-46) In Hellfire, their skins will burn and there will be melting, ripping, pulling and usage of chains and locks. "... then as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them, boiling water will be poured down over their heads. With it will melt or vanish away what is within their bellies, as well as skins". (22:19-20) The Fire will burn and cover their faces forever, with no barrier between them and it: "If only the unbelievers knew when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor yet from their backs, and no help can reach them!" (21:39) "The Fire will burn their faces and they will therein grin, with their lips displaced" (23:104) "Their garments of liquid pitch, and their faces covered with fire". (14:50)

It will devour everything and leave nothing. It will growl and moan grotesquely burning the outer skins and reaching down to the bones and depths of the mind. The least punished among them will have 2 burning coals placed on the soles of his feet, and by this his brain will boil. Al-Bukhaari reports from al-Nu'maan ibn Basheer who said: "I heard the Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu Alaihi WaSalaam) say, "The person who will have the least punishment among the people of Hell on the Day of Resurrection will be a man under the arch of whose feet will be placed a smouldering ember, and his brains will boil because of it." The lowest dreg of its depth takes 70 years of the falling of a body to reach. The fuel of the Hellfire is disbelievers and stones (of idols). its wind is poison, its shade is fierce heat, and its clothes are the fire. "The hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire.." (4:145)

Paradise is the final abode of the believers. “Those will have gardens of perpetual residence; beneath them rivers will flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on adorned couches. Excellent is the reward, and good is the resting place.” (Surah 18:31) Its bricks are of gold and silver and its mortar of musk. Its pebbles are pearls and the dust is saffron. It has 8 gates, each opens to the size of 3 day journey, even then it will be thronging with those entering it. It has one hundred degrees, between each the highest part, and from it the rivers of Paradise gush.

The roof of Paradise is the Throne of Allah, the Most Merciful in Benevolence. Its rivers are of honey, milk, wine and water, gushing without channels, and the believer will be able to make them flow as he wishes. “[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. With their effort [they are] satisfied. In an elevated garden, wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. Within it is a flowing spring. Within it are couches raised high and cups put in place and cushions lined up and carpets spread around.” (Surah 88:8-16)

The fruits of Paradise are permanent, close by and easy to reach. “…the chosen servants of Allah. Those will have a provision determined—fruits; and they will be honored in gardens of pleasure on thrones facing one another. There will be circulated among them a cup from a flowing spring, white and delicious to the drinkers; no bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated.” (Surah 37:40-47)

In it there are tents of carved pearls the width of each is 60 miles, and the believer will have a wife in each corner. “And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, ‘This is what we were provided with before.’ And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally.” (Surah 2:25)

Men will be fully grown but youthful without beards. Their youth will never disappear and their clothes will never become threadbare. They will not urinate, defecate or have any impurity emitting from them. Their combs will be of gold and their perspiration like musk. The women of Paradise are all beautiful virgins of similar ages of their companions. The first to enter Paradise will be Mohammad (saw) and then the other prophets. The lowest of the inhabitants of Paradise will wish and be given what they desire tenfold. Their servants are eternal youths like treasured pearls. Indeed among the greatest bliss of Paradise will be the seeing of their Lord Allah (swt), and Allah's pleasure upon them, and their abode of eternity in Paradise.

Is Paradise better as an abode or the tree of zaqūm? (Surah 37:62) So do not say you were not warned because you will have no excuse on the day of judgement. "Allah (the most supreme) has informed us in the miraculous quran - And (i have) shown him the two ways (the paths of good and evil)?" (Surah 90:10)

There is no compulsion in this matter. The choice is yours! But remember the consequences are very severe if you remain on disbelief.
